Research Triangle Park, NC (July 10, 2017) — Summer is a time when many school children can lose skills they learned the previous school year. To help keep those bright minds in gear over the break, GoDurham is sponsoring a book drive and several community events in the coming weeks.

Triangle residents can help the “Books on Bus” campaign put interesting and imaginative books in the hands of Durham children of all ages by donating books at our transit centers starting July 10. Take new or gently used books to:

BOGO DEAL AT DURHAM BULLS ATHLETIC PARK!

Or take a book to the Durham Bulls game Tuesday, July 18, and receive a “Buy One, Get One” ticket at the DBAP box office for use that day or later! The game starts at 7:05 p.m., but GoDurham will have a bus at the game from 5 to 8 p.m. so that children can come early and climb aboard for giveaways and fun!

MORE EVENTS COMING IN AUGUST

To distribute the donated books, the GoDurham bus will travel around Durham communities and invite children to climb aboard and pick out the treasures they’d like to take home! Visit godurhamtransit.org/booksonbus for updates on those events as we post them. Or follow @GoDurhamTransit and @GoTriangle on Twitter or like GoTriangle’s Facebook page for more information.
