Transit Signal Priority Project

WHAT IS TSP? AND WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?

Transit Signal Priority or TSP is a technology that helps keep your bus moving when it’s running late.

  1. Your bus may not arrive when you expect it to arrive.
    • Late buses can make you miss your bus transfer or arrive late to your destination.
  2. Traffic lights help set the pace of the street.
    • Buses must stop at red lights, just like cars, but when your bus is running late, stopping at a red light could mean more delays.
  3. TSP sends a message from your bus to the traffic light.
    • The message tells the traffic light to stay green longer, so your bus can keep moving if it’s running late.
  4. The light stays green so your bus keeps moving!
    • Your bus moving means fewer delays, improved travel time, and more reliable bus service!
  5. TSP means a better bus ride for YOU!
    • You arrive to your destination when you expect to arrive!
