August 2026 Service Changes

Effective, Saturday, August 22, 2026, GoDurham is expanding frequent service in North Durham by enhancing Routes 4 and 4B, making transit faster, more reliable, and more convenient for riders. Buses on both routes will arrive every 15 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, giving customers greater flexibility and reducing wait times throughout the day.

For the first time, Route 4B will operate all day instead of only during the afternoon, providing additional service along much of the Route 4 corridor. This expanded service increases capacity, helps reduce overcrowding, and offers riders more travel options.

The service improvements also strengthen connections to important community destinations, including Duke Regional Hospital, Northern High School, JFK Towers, and the Durham Center for Senior Life. Riders will benefit from more convenient transfers between Routes 4, 6, and 9 at Duke Regional Hospital, making travel throughout the GoDurham system easier and more efficient.

These enhancements are part of GoDurham’s ongoing commitment to expanding its high-frequency network and providing safe, reliable, accessible, and convenient public transportation for North Durham residents.
