- Central Durham is experiencing tremendous growth along the corridor connecting The Village, Downtown Durham, Duke University, and Erwin Road. The central corridor averages approximately 6,000 passenger boardings per day. Routes 3, 6, 11, and 11B are GoDurham’s highest-ridership routes. Together, these routes provide riders with access to employment, healthcare, education, and other essential destinations.
- GoDurham is planning to retire its oldest buses and replace them with newer vehicles, which is critical to support the system’s continued growth.
- The Durham Station renovation project is approximately halfway complete. The main platform is expected to reopen within the next few months.
- GoDurham will be upgrading its maintenance facility to accommodate 60-foot accordion buses in the future.
- A new GoDurham ACCESS facility will provide additional space to expand its fleet and operations. Construction is expected to be completed in June 2028.
