
GoDurham Implementing New Service Changes Spring 2026!
Starting Saturday, May 30th, 2026, GoDurham will add more service and improve reliability on several parts of the system. These improvements are funded by the Durham Transit Plan, which invests in faster, more dependable bus service for Durham.
Affected routes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10B, 11 11B, 12, 16
• Route 3 – Schedule Adjustment
6:50PM evening trip shifted 5 minutes earlier; downtown detour during construction.
• Routes 4 – More Frequent Service
A new Route 4B will provide additional trips between Durham Station and Seven Oaks Road, helping Route 4 run every 15 minutes from 2–7 PM.
• Route 5 – Improved Reliability + Service to Renaissance Center
Route 5 will have schedule changes between 9am and 7pm, Monday through Saturday, to improve on time performance, and restore service to the bus stops in the Renaissance Center at Southpoint that were previously served by Route 12.
• Route 8 – Better Transfers + Updated Timepoints
Departures at :15 and :45; new NCCU at Lawson Street timepoint.
• Routes 11 & 11B – Schedule Reliability Improvements
Additional running time added late morning through early afternoon to provide a more reliable schedule.
• Route 12 – More Frequent Inbound Trips
Schedule alignment to provide 15-minute inbound frequency on Main Street corridor between the 2 and 12; evening departures on :00 and :30.
• Route 16 – Evening/Sunday Schedule Improvements
6:50 PM trip removed; new 9 PM Sunday trip; evening departures on :00 and :30.
