Transit Signal Priority

Transit Signal Priority Project

WHAT IS TSP? AND WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
Transit Signal Priority or TSP is a technology that helps keep your bus moving when it’s running late.

1. Your bus may not arrive when you expect it to arrive.
Late buses can make you miss your bus transfer or arrive late to your destination.

2. Traffic lights help set the pace of the street.
Buses must stop at red lights, just like cars, but when your bus is running late, stopping at a red light could mean more delays.

3. TSP sends a message from your bus to the traffic light.
The message tells the traffic light to stay green longer, so your bus can keep moving if it’s running late.

4. The light stays green so your bus keeps moving!
Your bus moving means fewer delays, improved travel time, and more reliable bus service!

5. TSP means a better bus ride for YOU!
You arrive to your destination when you expect to arrive!
