GoDurham Event Aims to Help More Seniors Ride the Bus

For seniors who can’t or don’t want to drive, being stuck at home doesn’t have to be the result. Taking a bus to a restaurant, a grocery store or a park has never been easier.

GoDurham and the City of Durham’s Department of Transportation are partnering with the Durham Center for Senior Life to help those who would like to learn more about taking public transit.

On May 12 at 11 a.m., join representatives from the agencies in the center’s auditorium for a seminar offering everything you need to know about riding GoDurham buses. The seminar also will include information about the city’s new downtown parking regulations and the grant-funded taxicab program partnership between the center and the city.

Parking at the Durham Center for Senior Life is limited, so attendees are encouraged to use GoDurham’s Route 4, which serves the center at the intersection of Seminary Street and Rigsbee Avenue. The center’s address is 406 Rigsbee Ave., Suite 202, Durham NC 27701.

For more information, contact Brian Inyang, City of Durham Department of Transportation, at Brian.Inyang@durhamnc.gov or 919-560-1535 ext. 36209.
