Riders can select shuttles to East & North Durham Destinations!
DURHAM, N.C. – On October 21, GoDurham launches a new Microtransit Program which will allow riders to take shuttles to and from East and North Durham destinations.
This door-to-door, same-day ride service will provide more flexible, convenient transit options in the City’s underserved areas.
Route 5 - Lakewood Avenue
We are excited to announce the realignment of Route 5 along Lakewood Ave on September 30th, 2024.
After much labor and intensive work due to the area's geology, the installation of sanitary sewage has officially been completed.
Route 5 will return to its regular alignment, as presented on all GoDurham resources, effective Monday, September 30th, 2024. This marks the completion of the road work and the resumption of normal bus services, restoring the comfort and regularity you are accustomed to.
GoDurham Fleet Challenges
GoDurham's Hybrid Bus Fleet has recently faced challenges, which have significantly affected the level at which we deliver service.
We are exploring the possibility of a leased bus fleet, a solution we are confident will effectively mitigate these issues.
GoDurham is working diligently to combat fleet conditions and keep our passengers in communication as challenges may occur.

Effective Saturday, August 24, 2024, GoDurham will implement a service change in North Durham to expand service on Routes 1, 4, 6, and 9. This will improve service by reducing wait times, increasing frequency, and providing a new connection in North Durham to Duke /VA Medical Centers.
Route 1 – Is being re-aligned to serve Riverside High School on weekdays until 7pm.
GoDurham is FARE FREE through June 2025!
GoDurham is happy to announce that the City of Durham approved its proposed budget for the next fiscal year, including support for transportation.
This approved budget will continue to provide all GoDurham passengers with free fares through June 2025.
